Cross-Linking Induced Emission of Polymer Micelles for High-Contrast Visualization Level 3 Details of Latent Fingerprints

Rou Zou et al.

Summary: In this study, fluorescent polymer micelles (PMs) were designed and synthesized for high-contrast fluorescence imaging of latent fingerprints (LFPs). The PMs exhibited aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) properties, allowing for high water dispersibility, high selectivity, a large Stokes shift, good photostability, and excellent long-term stability. The PMs preferentially adhered onto the ridges of fingerprints due to hydrophobic interaction, and the cross-linking reaction induced emission properties enabled high-contrast imaging of LFPs in different substrates.

G6PD inhibition sensitizes ovarian cancer cells to oxidative stress in the metastatic omental microenvironment

Shree Bose et al.

Summary: Ovarian cancer cells in the omental microenvironment experience oxidative stress and adapt to this challenge through metabolic reprogramming. Inhibition of the key enzyme G6PD in the pentose phosphate pathway reduces tumor burden in OC.

An AIE and ESIPT based neuraminidase fluorescent probe for influenza virus detection and imaging

Hao Chang et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel neuraminidase fluorescent probe with aggregation-induced emission and excited state intramolecular proton transfer activity was developed for influenza virus detection. The probe showed high sensitivity and strong fluorescence signal towards neuraminidase, making it suitable for influenza virus detection and living cell imaging. It was also able to distinguish oseltamivir-resistant influenza virus from wild type.

Development of Nucleoside Diphosphate-Bearing Fragile Histidine Triad-Imaging Fluorescence Probes with Well-Tuned Hydrophobicity for Intracellular Delivery

Mitsuyasu Kawaguchi et al.

Summary: Fluorescence-guided cancer surgery can improve recurrence rates and postoperative quality of life by accurately distinguishing normal and cancer tissues. This study developed a fluorescence probe that can detect FHIT activity in living cells and found that probes with CLogP = 5-7 showed good membrane permeability and substrate activity, providing guidance for the design of phosphate-containing probes targeting intracellular enzymes.

The integrity and stability of specimens under different storage conditions for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency screening using WST-8

Kamonwan Chamchoy et al.

Summary: Accurate measurement of G6PD activity is crucial for malaria treatment, and storing samples under suitable conditions can prevent loss of enzyme activity. Normal samples remained stable with high enzyme activity after 1 year of storage at -20°C, while G6PD deficient samples rapidly lost enzyme activity under all storage conditions tested. Storage under suitable conditions is essential for accurate G6PD testing and safe use of antimalarial drugs.
