Ultrafast carrier kinetics at surface and interface of Sb2Se3 film by transient reflectance

Huang Hao et al.

Summary: Antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) is a promising low-cost and environmentally-friendly semiconductor photovoltaic material. This study investigates the carrier recombination and transfer dynamics of Sb2Se3, revealing the carrier thermalization, band gap renormalization, and carrier cooling time. It also uncovers the transfer of both free electron and shallow-trapped electron at the CdS/Sb2Se3 interface.

Buried Interfaces in Halide Perovskite Photovoltaics

Xiaoyu Yang et al.

Summary: Research has shown that losses at buried interfaces in perovskite photovoltaics are mainly caused by sub-microscale extended imperfections and lead-halide inhomogeneities, which are major obstacles to improving device performance. By utilizing passivation molecules for microstructural reconstruction, these losses can be significantly reduced, unlocking the full potential for enhancing device performance.

Summary: This research introduces a nanopatterned electron transport layer that overcomes the trade-off between passivation quality and series resistance in traditional polymer passivation layers. Combining the nanopatterned electron transport layer with a dopant-free hole transport layer improves the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells.

Temperature-Dependent Ultrafast Charge Carrier Dynamics in Amorphous and Crystalline Sb2Se3 Thin Films

Palwinder Singh et al.

Summary: The research shows that amorphous Sb2Se3 thin film has a higher interband gap defect density compared to crystalline film. Femtosecond broad-band pump-probe spectroscopy analysis reveals that carrier dynamics at low temperature are faster than at high temperature, attributed to higher carrier mobility at high temperatures.

More Se Vacancies in Sb2Se3 under Se-Rich Conditions: An Abnormal Behavior Induced by Defect-Correlation in Compensated Compound Semiconductors

Menglin Huang et al.

Summary: Contrary to previous beliefs, Se-rich conditions actually promote the formation of V-Se donor defects in Sb2Se3. The complex defect-correlation in quasi-1D Sb2Se3 and Sb2S3 leads to abnormal behaviors, such as decreasing the formation energy of ionized defects in Se-rich conditions. This challenges common chemical intuition and defect engineering strategies in compensated semiconductors.
