Can the incentives polices promote the diffusion of distributed photovoltaic power in China?

Wang Wei et al.

Summary: This study combines the learning curve and system dynamics model to investigate the dynamic diffusion process of China's distributed photovoltaic power. The results indicate that technological innovation is the driving force behind cost reduction, demand-pull and technology-push policies both contribute to the diffusion of distributed photovoltaic power, and the fixed feed-in tariff policy has a more significant impact on diffusion compared to research and development policy.

Investigating the hydropower plants production and profitability using system dynamics approach

Sareh Daneshgar et al.

Summary: As the electricity industry worldwide seeks ways to improve production, distribution, and transmission, hydropower has gained attention for its ability to convert directly into electricity and its potential for storage. However, uncertainties such as market prices and water inflow into dams have made decision-making for hydropower producers more complex. This research develops a dynamic production profitability model to simulate the operation of a hydro reservoir system and the profitability process for producers, using the Karun 1 Dam as a case study. The results show the most profitable scenario to be discharging 15% of the dam in the 24th month.

Thermal response analysis and parameter prediction of additively manufactured polymers

Navid Moslemi et al.

Summary: In this study, a three-dimensional finite element model with an apparent heat capacity model was developed to evaluate the influence of processing parameters on the thermal behavior of polymers. The experimental validation showed a complex correlation between processing parameters and thermal behaviors such as temperature distribution and phase change. Furthermore, an artificial neural network trained using the model results demonstrated the capability to predict thermal and glass transition behavior with subsequent processing parameters.
