The probiotic characteristics of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus grx10 were investigated through genotype and phenotype analysis in this study. In vitro experiments showed that grx10 exhibited excellent resistance to ambient stresses, bacteriostatic activity, and adhesion ability, indicating its potential as a probiotic. Complete genome sequencing revealed the genetic information and genes associated with probiotic characteristics, as well as the prediction of genes involved in extracellular proteins and secretory pathways. Among the secreted proteins, p40 and p75 were found to promote intestinal barrier integrity, with an abundance of 0.36% and 0.20% in the fermented supernatant of grx10. This study highlights the potential of grx10 in protecting the intestinal barrier from a postbiotic perspective.
In present study, probiotic characteristics of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus grx10 was investigated by genotype and phenotype. In vitro experiments showed grx10 had excellent ability of resistance to ambient stresses (tempera-ture, pH, and bile salt), bacteriostatic, and adhesion, which are necessary capabilities to be a potential probiotic. Besides, complete genome sequence of the strain showed basic genetic information and genes correspond to probiotic characteristics. Meanwhile, sequencie and analysis of complete genome to predict genes involved in extracellular proteins and their secretory pathway. Among the secreted proteins of grx10, found p40 and p75 which were shown to favor intestinal barrier integrity. In the fermented supernatant of grx10, the abundance of p40 and p75 was 0.36% and 0.20%, respectively. We expected that grx10 would be predicted to function to protect the intestinal barrier from postbiotics perspective.
