Unimolecular Nano-contrast Agent with Ultrahigh Relaxivity and Very Long Retention for Magnetic Resonance Lymphography br

Lu Xu et al.

Summary: Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is crucial for noninvasive lymphography. However, current MR contrast agents lack sufficient tissue contrast and long observation window. By using one-dimensional unimolecular nanoparticles as nanoparticulate chelates, a significant improvement in contrast agent performance has been achieved, leading to high relaxivity and excellent contrast enhancement.

Effects of star-shaped PCL having different numbers of arms on the mechanical, morphological, and thermal properties of PLA/PCL blends

Merve Dandan Doganci

Summary: In this study, a series of linear and star-shaped poly(epsilon-caprolactone)s (SPCL) were successfully synthesized and blended with poly(lactic acid) (PLA), leading to improved mechanical properties and enhanced immiscibility between the two biodegradable polymers. Star-shaped PCL (3SPCL) was found to decrease the modulus and increase the elongation at break values, indicating a significant mechanical enhancement. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images confirmed the enhanced immiscibility and mechanical improvement achieved through the addition of star polymers.

Computer Simulations on a pH-Responsive Anticancer Drug Delivery System Using Zwitterion-Grafted Polyamidoamine Dendrimer Unimolecular Micelles

Sijun Zeng et al.

Summary: Dissipative particle dynamics simulations were used to study the stability and drug loading/release behaviors of unimolecular micelles formed using PAMAM(G5)-PCBMA. The results indicated that PAMAM(G5)-PCBMA can form core-shell unimolecular micelles capable of loading and releasing DOX, exhibiting regularities with drug concentration changes. Comparisons with PAMAM(G5)-PEGMA system showed better monodisperse stability in the former. This work could provide theoretical guidance for the design and development of promising unimolecular micelles for drug delivery.
