Impact of external potential and non-isospectral functions on optical solitons and modulation instability in a cubic quintic nonlinear media

M. S. Mani Rajan et al.

Summary: We investigate the non-isospectral generalized higher order NLS equation (GHNLS) with external potential, which represents the ultrashort optical soliton transmission in inhomogeneous non-Kerr media with external potentials. The Lax pair for GHNLS equation is constructed, and three soliton solutions are obtained using the Darboux transformation. The effects of inhomogeneous non-isospectral parameters on soliton dynamics are considered for the first time. The interaction among double hump solitons is analyzed using two soliton solutions, and the interaction characteristics are studied analytically using three soliton solutions. The stability mechanism is explored through linear stability analysis. The graphical investigation of the effects of nonisospectral parameters and variable coefficients on soliton dynamics is conducted. The predicted results have potential applications in nonlinear fiber optics and femtosecond soliton management.
