Impact of direct links on Intelligent Reflect Surface-aided MEC networks

Rui Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates an intelligent reflect surface (IRS) aided mobile edge computing (MEC) network, where the existing direct link supports task transmission by utilizing multiple elements in the IRS. The performance evaluation is conducted by examining the impact of the direct link on the outage probability. The results demonstrate that increasing the number of reflecting elements can effectively reduce the system's outage probability.

Improving LDPC and turbo LDPC codes using Collection of Punctured Codes Decoding (CPCD)

Rana A. Hassan et al.

Summary: In our previous paper, we introduced a novel CPCD technique to improve decoding of LDPC codes. However, the previous results were limited to shorter LDPC codes and AWGN channels using QPSK modulation. In this study, we demonstrate that CPCD can achieve significant gains regardless of the length of the code, modulation technique, or channel type, including fading channels. We also introduce a novel turbo-CPCD technique that outperforms SPA decoding and turbo LDPC codes.
