IUPAC specification for the FAIR management of spectroscopic data in chemistry (IUPAC FAIRSpec) - guiding principles

Robert M. Hanson et al.

Summary: This article discusses the guiding principles for managing spectroscopic data and presents future recommendations. It includes specifying a data model and metadata schema to describe the content of an IUPAC FAIRData Collection and the organization of digital objects. Additionally, potential workflows for implementing the IUPAC FAIRSpec standard are analyzed based on these principles.

The amounts of thermal vibrations and static disorder in protein X-ray crystallographic B-factors

Hyuntae Na et al.

Summary: Crystallographic B-factors provide dynamical information on proteins and are used as a benchmark in elastic network models. This study analyzed over 10,000 protein structures and found that the magnitude of thermal vibrations is nearly protein-independent and increases with higher resolution and room temperature. The results suggest that structures determined at high resolution and room temperature have the richest dynamics information.
