Spatial Domain Indirect Holography for a Full Phaseless Approach to Biomedical Microwave Imaging

Sandra Costanzo et al.

Summary: In this paper, a full phaseless, two-step strategy is proposed to retrieve the incident field distribution in microwave imaging. The strategy utilizes spatial domain indirect holography technique to retrieve the phase of the incident field and reconstructs the field using modal expansion technique and source reconstruction method. The effectiveness of the combined approach is demonstrated through experiments.

Experimental Moving Target Imaging in a Nonanechoic Environment With Linear Sampling Method

Semih Dogu et al.

Summary: This study addresses the issue of background measurement in qualitative microwave imaging methods (Q-MWMs) by utilizing total electric field measured at different time instants. By setting an equation system for indicator values at different time instants, the proposed algorithm successfully obtains the indicator of Q-MWM for each measurement time without the need for background measurement. The performance of the algorithm is verified using experimental measurements in a nonanechoic environment.

Quantitative Interpretation of UWB Radar Images for Non-Invasive Tissue Temperature Estimation during Hyperthermia

Alexandra Prokhorova et al.

Summary: The paper presents a methodology for quantitative non-invasive tissue temperature estimation based on ultra-wideband (UWB) radar imaging in the microwave frequency range. The capabilities of the method are demonstrated through experiments with liquid phantoms and three-dimensional (3D) Delay-and-Sum beamforming algorithms, showing its potential for detection and estimation of temperature induced dielectric properties change.

Quantitative Non-Linear Inverse Scattering: A Wealth of Possibilities Through Smart Rewritings of the Basic Equations

Martina Teresa Bevacqua et al.

Summary: This paper discusses methods to address non-linearity in inverse scattering, focusing on rewriting the Lippman Schwinger basic equation to reduce the degree of non-linearity. Three different rewritings are compared, along with a summary and discussion of the 'Virtual Experiments' framework. Possible joint exploitations of concepts are introduced, discussed, and tested with numerical examples.
