Adrenoleukodystrophy siblings with a novel ABCD1 missense variant presenting with phenotypic differences: a case report and literature review

Yuka Shibata et al.

Summary: Research on the clinical phenotypic variations within ALD families found that most sibling pairs presented with the same clinical type, while a portion of sibling pairs had similar ages of onset but different clinical types. Early diagnosis and detailed reports on age of onset, initial symptoms, and symptom progression are crucial for observing the correlation between genotypes and phenotypes in ALD.
