Three-Component Synthesis of Some New Coumarin Derivatives as Anticancer Agents

Latifah A. Alshabanah et al.

Summary: A new three-component reaction using chitosan-grafted poly(vinylpyridine) as an eco-friendly catalyst was developed for the synthesis of novel 3-heteroaryl-coumarin under ultrasonic irradiation. The process proved to be simple, efficient, and yielded compounds with promising anticancer activities, as demonstrated by the evaluation of the products against HEPG2-1.
