Disability and physical activity in people with chronic disease receiving physiotherapy. A prospective cohort study

Lisa U. Tonning et al.

Summary: This study investigated whether self-reported disability and physical activity changed in patients with chronic disease receiving physiotherapy, and assessed if an improvement in self-reported disability was related to an increase in objectively measured physical activity. The results showed that neither self-reported disability nor physical activity changed among patients receiving physiotherapy, and there was no correlation between self-reported change of disability and objectively measured physical activity.

Developing and validating an accelerometer-based algorithm with machine learning to classify physical activity after acquired brain injury

Helene Honore et al.

Summary: The study developed and validated an accelerometer-based algorithm for classifying physical activities in people with acquired brain injury in a laboratory setting resembling a real home environment. The algorithm showed good precision in classifying transfers and ambulating activities, with a weighted sensitivity of 89.3% and a weighted positive predictive value of 89.7%.
