Summary: This study demonstrates a fast, linear, and reliable method for modulating structural colors using a thermally-induced phase separation mechanism. Molecular dynamic simulation reveals that hydrogen bonding between the mesophase and solvent is the key factor for the fast and reversible phase transition behaviors. Wide-range colorations can be achieved by controlling the mesophase concentration and external temperature. Linearly programmable color regulations are enabled due to the linear change of turbidity upon temperature stimuli.

Summary: In this research, a novel approach of integrating perovskite nanocrystals (PNs) into PhC microspheres for information security is presented. By encapsulating PNs in PhC microspheres, binary optical signals are generated as coding information. The arrays of PNs-integrated PhC microspheres with different codes, placed in a treated PDMS substrate, can converge moisture and prevent mutual contamination. Additionally, the fluorescence of PNs inside PhC microspheres can respond reversibly to environmental moisture. These features highlight the significant value of PNs-integrated PhC microsphere arrays in the field of information security.
