Tuning the band gap and effective mass of black arsenic phosphide monolayer by in-plane strain

Yuliang Mao et al.

Summary: The electronic properties and effective mass of black AsP monolayer show strong anisotropy under external strain, with the effective mass significantly tunable by strain. The study indicates that electron and hole transport preferentially occurs along the armchair direction, and the band gap transition is influenced by the type and magnitude of the strain applied.

g-C3N4/SnS2 van der Waals Heterostructures Enabling High-Efficiency Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Yue Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a 2D/2D g-C3N4/SnS2 photocatalyst with vdW heterojunction was developed for high-efficiency hydrogen production under visible light illumination. The presence of vdW heterojunction was found to enhance the photocatalytic activity by optimizing the behavior of photogenerated carriers and promoting interaction between reactants and catalysts. The heterojunction also facilitated efficient interfacial charge migration and separation, as well as reduction in surface hydrogen adsorption-desorption.

Tuning the Exchange Bias Effect in 2D van der Waals Ferro-/Antiferromagnetic Fe3GeTe2/CrOCl Heterostructures

Tianle Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, the exchange bias effect in Fe3GeTe2 (FGT)/CrOCl heterostructures is investigated through anomalous Hall effect (AHE) and reflective magnetic circular dichroism (RMCD) measurements. The exchange bias field (H-EB) is successfully tuned by changing the FGT/CrOCl thickness and the cooling field. A larger H-EB in RMCD measurements is observed, which is proposed to be related to the distribution of uncompensated spins at the interface.

Highly Sensitive, Ultrafast, and Broadband Photo-Detecting Field-Effect Transistor with Transition-Metal Dichalcogenide van der Waals Heterostructures of MoTe2 and PdSe2

Amir Muhammad Afzal et al.

Summary: A novel vdWH FET composed of MoTe2 and PdSe2 has been studied for highly sensitive photodetection performance in the visible and near-infrared region, showing high rectification ratio, photoresponsivity, detectivity, and external quantum efficiency. The device exhibits rapid rise and decay times under incident light due to inter-TMD charge transfer transition, representing an outcome one order of magnitude faster than current literature values. These TMD-based vdWH FETs would improve photo-gating characteristics and provide a platform for highly sensitive photodetectors in the broad VNIR region.
