Slow Energy Transfer in Self-Doped β-Conformation Film of Steric Polydiarylfluorenes toward Stable Dual Deep-Blue Amplified Spontaneous Emission

Man Xu et al.

Summary: The photoexcitation dynamics of exciton migration and energy transfer in the self-doped beta-conformation film of polydiarylfluorenes were demonstrated in this study. The energy transfer in PODPF films occurs over a time period of approximately 150 ps, longer than that of PFO, attributed to effective intrachain energy transfer. The stable dual amplified spontaneous emission behavior of PODPF self-doped films originates from individual amorphous and beta-conformation domains.

A Molecular Design Principle for Pure-Blue Light-Emitting Polydiarylfluorene with Suppressed Defect Emission by the SideChain Steric Hindrance Effect

Lubing Bai et al.

Summary: This study reported a molecular design principle of polydiarylfluorenes for achieving pure-blue light emission by introducing functional side chains containing carbazole and amide groups. The steric hindrance effect of carbazole groups disrupted the hydrogen bond interactions among the side-chain amide groups, resulting in pure-deep-blue emission in solution-processed films and polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs). Time-resolved transient spectroscopy revealed similar exciton behaviors and ultrafast energy transfer within tens of picoseconds.
