Lifetime Assessment of InxGa1-xAs n-Type Hetero-Epitaxial Layers

P-C (Brent) Hsu et al.

Summary: The carrier lifetime in n-doped InxGa1-xAs layers was studied by diode current-voltage analysis and time-resolved photoluminescence. It was found that the relationship between recombination lifetime and threading dislocation densities (TDDs) can be described by a first-order model. Additionally, electric-field enhancement factor and residual strain in the n-layer also impact the generation lifetime. The safe limit for TDD depends on the application type and operation conditions.

Impedance spectroscopy study of defect/ion mediated electric field and its effect on the photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells based on different active layers

Varun Srivastava et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of defects mitigation on the photovoltaic performance of three different types of perovskite solar cells using impedance and transient spectroscopy. The results show that defects mitigation leads to improved charge storage capacity, reduced recombination losses, and enhanced performance of the solar cells.

Photo-induced defects in MAPbBr3 single crystals

Yunae Cho et al.

Summary: This paper presents a photo-induced defect characterization of CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPbBr(3)) perovskite single crystals using an interpretation of photo-current and photo-capacitance measurement. The bulk and the interfacial defect densities of MAPbBr(3) crystals with a gold electrode are examined by the characterization of photo-capacitive response under three different wavelengths of light. The transient photo-response of the single crystals reveals the occurrence of carrier trapping and a recombination process, providing a possible origin of defects in MAPbBr(3) single crystals.

Perovskite solar cells with atomically coherent interlayers on SnO2 electrodes

Hanul Min et al.

Summary: By introducing an interlayer between the electron-transporting and perovskite layers in perovskite solar cells, researchers have successfully enhanced charge extraction and transport from the perovskite, leading to higher power conversion efficiency and fewer interfacial defects. The coherent interlayer allowed the fabrication of devices with a certified efficiency of 25.5%, which maintained about 90% of its initial efficiency even after continuous light exposure for 500 hours. The findings provide guidelines for designing defect-minimizing interfaces in metal halide perovskites and electron-transporting layers.

Consistent Interpretation of Electrical and Optical Transients in Halide Perovskite Layers and Solar Cells

Lisa Kruckemeier et al.

Summary: Transient photoluminescence (TPL) and transient photovoltage (TPV) measurements were studied in the field of halide-perovskite photovoltaics. The experiment showed that effective monomolecular lifetimes of around 2 μs can be consistently measured in efficient methylammonium lead-iodide solar cells using both TPL and TPV methods.
