Multiplicity of Inertial Self-Similar Conical Shapes in an Electrified Liquid Metal

Chengzhe Zhou et al.

Summary: Research has shown that in the phenomenon of interest, local Maxwell forces and capillary forces predominate in an ideal conducting liquid, allowing for a description of the potential fields and interface shape far from the tip using self-similar series solutions. As research progresses, solutions that retain inertial effects have been found and demonstrate that self-focusing, divergent dynamics leading to power-law growth are preserved.
