Dynamical Nature of Exciton-Polariton Coupling in WS2 Nanoparticles

Sudarson Sekhar Sinha et al.

Summary: This study investigates the dynamics of exciton-polaritons (EPs) formation in WS2 NPs using femtosecond transient extinction spectroscopy. The formation of EPs in WS2 NPs is found to be a gradual process occurring after several picoseconds. The light-matter interaction is guided by excitonic absorption for short delay times and controlled by polaritonic scattering for long delay times. The coupling strength between excitonic and external modes is time-dependent, with a notable transition from weak to strong coupling.

Small grains as recombination hot spots in perovskite solar cells

Qingzhi An et al.

Summary: Studies find that recombination at grain boundaries is diffusion limited and inversely proportional to the grain area to the power of 3/2. The prevalence of small grains, which act as recombination hot spots, dictates the photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells.
