Sr2GdF7: Er3+/Yb3+ nanocrystal-inlaid pliable fibers for synergistic feedback temperature monitoring

M. Y. Guo et al.

Summary: A nanocrystal-inlaid fiber (NIF) structure, Sr-2(Gd1-x-yErxYby)F-2/polyacrylonitrile(SGF-EY/PAN), is fabricated through electrospinning, which possesses synergistic feedback and real-time temperature monitoring. The SGF-EY fibers exhibit efficient upconversion luminescence under near-infrared laser radiation, making it a viable option to achieve dual thermal feedback. The principal thermal feedback (I-523/I-540), evaluated by the relative sensitivity (S-R), reaches a maximum value of 0.856%K-1 at 303 K. Additionally, the ratio of green radiation at 523 nm influenced by two-photon absorption and blue radiation at 410 nm controlled by three-photon absorption (I-523/I-410) is employed as an auxiliary indicator with a maximum S-R of 1.456%K-1 at 303 K, providing a thermal sensing with synergistic response effect. The nanocrystal-inlaid pliable fibers with dual temperature feedback have potential applications in noncontact biomedical temperature sensors, aeronautical engineering probes, and flexible thermal monitoring components.
