Ultra-Low-Dose Pre-Metallation Strategy Served for Commercial Metal-Ion Capacitors

Zirui Song et al.

Summary: The sacrificial pre-metallation strategy has been investigated to improve the performance of full metal ion capacitors (MICs). By regulating the interface and electron groups, the decomposition energy and polarization phenomenon can be reduced, resulting in a lower practical decomposition potential. Experimental results showed that the energy density and cycling stability of full sodium ion capacitors were significantly improved under a ultra-low dosage pre-sodiation reagent. The decomposition mechanism of sacrificial compound and its influence on MICs system were revealed, and this strategy was also successfully applied to lithium/potassium ion capacitors.

Strongly Coupled Interfacial Engineering Inspired by Robotic Arms Enable High-Performance Sodium-Ion Capacitors

Zirui Song et al.

Summary: In this study, a strong interfacial coupling effect was achieved by grafting functional groups with high affinity to V atoms onto carbon nanotubes, resulting in enhanced conductivity and durability of the VS4-CNT heterostructure. The assembled sodium-ion capacitor exhibited excellent energy density and reversibility, thanks to the interfacial coupling effect and the synergistic soft-rigid integrated solid-electrolyte interphase film.

Features of Galvanostatic Electrodeposition of NiFe Films with Composition Gradient: Influence of Substrate Characteristics

Tatiana I. Zubar et al.

Summary: NiFe films with a composition gradient are of great interest for their unique functional properties. The anomaly concerning the compositional gradient formed near the substrate in electrolytically deposited binary and ternary iron-containing alloys has been explained, and a clear relationship between the structure and surface properties of the substrate, the initially formed NiFe layers and the film composition gradient has been found.
