Nanoporous silver nanorods as surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrates

Qiuyan Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, nanoporous Ag nanorods were prepared through chemical reduction of electrodeposited Ag7O8NO3 nanorods using a reducing agent. The nanopores in the Ag nanorods can function as both analyte containers and SERS hot spots, providing strong SERS enhancement. The simple fabrication process and outstanding SERS performance make the nanoporous Ag nanorods promising candidates for sensitive detection of various pollutants, narcotics, and biomolecules.

Surface plasmon resonance gas sensor with a nanoporous gold film

Chenglong Zhang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates an optical gas sensor based on the surface plasmon resonance of nanoporous gold thin films. The sensor exhibits high sensitivity by controlling the dealloying time to adjust the film porosity for optimal sensitivity to H2S. Compared to conventional Au-SPR sensors, the NPG-SPR sensor is at least six times more sensitive.
