Elastic Properties of Single-Walled Phosphide Nanotubes: Numerical Simulation Study

Nataliya A. Sakharova et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the elastic properties of non-carbon nanotubes based on compounds of the 13th group of the periodic table. The research reveals that these nanotubes are more suitable candidates than carbon nanotubes for building novel nano-devices, and proposes a robust methodology to calculate the surface elastic moduli of phosphide nanotubes.

Growth temperature effect on physical and mechanical properties of nitrogen rich InN epilayers

Z. Benzarti et al.

Summary: A series of N-polar InN epilayers were grown at various temperatures using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy on GaN/AlN/Al2O3(0001) templates. Different island distributions and shapes were observed at varying growth temperatures, but the samples were identified as single crystalline phase regardless of temperature. Increasing the growth temperature up to 560 degrees C improved the crystalline quality, while excessively high temperatures led to degradation of quality.

On the Determination of Elastic Properties of Single-Walled Boron Nitride Nanotubes by Numerical Simulation

Nataliya A. Sakharova et al.

Summary: This study investigated the elastic properties of chiral and non-chiral single-walled boron nitride nanotubes across a wide range of chiral indices and diameters using a three-dimensional finite element model. The impact of input parameters on numerical simulation results was extensively explored, and the elastic properties of single-walled boron nitride nanotubes were compared with those of single-walled carbon nanotubes.
