Transcriptomics analysis of cashmere fineness functional genes

Yuting Qin et al.

Summary: In this study, transcriptome analysis revealed 16 differentially expressed genes related to cashmere fineness in Liaoning cashmere goats. These genes may potentially have regulatory effects on cashmere quality. GO and KEGG analyses further suggested their involvement in immune response, MHC protein complex, and diseases such as transplant-versus-host disease and allograft rejection.

Screening of microRNA and mRNA related to secondary hair follicle morphogenesis and development and functional analysis in cashmere goats

Fangzheng Shang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the expression profiles of miRNA and mRNA in cashmere goat fetal skin, and identified miRNAs and mRNAs related to the development of secondary hair follicles. Enrichment analysis revealed that some miRNA target genes were consistent with the screened mRNAs and enriched in Notch and TGF-beta signaling pathways. A regulatory network for the development of secondary hair follicles was constructed, and a targeted relationship between miR-30e-5p and DLL4 was confirmed. This study provides insights into the molecular mechanism of miRNA-mRNA in the development of hair follicles in cashmere goats.

Comprehensive Transcriptome Analysis Reveals the Role of lncRNA in Fatty Acid Metabolism in the Longissimus Thoracis Muscle of Tibetan Sheep at Different Ages

Gaoliang Bao et al.

Summary: This study revealed the temporal regularity of lncRNA expression and its regulatory role in lipid metabolism of the longissimus thoracis (LT) muscle in Tibetan sheep. The results showed that the IMF content was highest at 1.5 years of age and it was rich in MUFA and PUFA. The enrichment analysis of the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network found that the AMPK signaling pathway played a significant role in the lipid metabolism of Tibetan sheep.

Screening of cashmere fineness-related genes and their ceRNA network construction in cashmere goats

Taiyu Hui et al.

Summary: Competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) is a type of transcript that can be mutually regulated by shared miRNAs. This study identified miRNAs in Liaoning Cashmere Goat (LCG) skin and analyzed the expression of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in both LCG and Inner Mongolia cashmere goat (MCG) skin. Through further analysis and confirmation, a ceRNA regulatory network for controlling cashmere fineness was established.

miR-143 Targeting CUX1 to Regulate Proliferation of Dermal Papilla Cells in Hu Sheep

Tingyan Hu et al.

Summary: The study found that miR-143 can inhibit the proliferation of dermal papilla cells and regulate the formation of wool curvature. The targeting of CUX1 by miR-143 inhibits the proliferation of dermal papilla cells, while the targeting of KRT71 by miR-143 regulates the growth and development of hair follicles.

Integrated Analysis of lncRNA and mRNA Reveals Novel Insights into Wool Bending in Zhongwei Goat

Xiaobo Li et al.

Summary: The high-quality lambskin of the Chinese Zhongwei goat is valuable economically, with its quality mainly influenced by the curvature of the wool regulated by hair follicle growth. Through RNA sequencing analysis, it was found that certain lncRNAs may play a role in influencing hair follicle development and wool bending, providing new insights into the regulatory mechanisms of wool curvature in goats.

Identification of Differentially Expressed Genes and Lipid Metabolism Signaling Pathways between Muscle and Fat Tissues in Broiler Chickens

Min Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated signaling pathways and key differentially expressed genes (DEGs) involved in lipid metabolism in muscle and fat tissues of broilers. The findings revealed important lipid signaling pathways, including pyruvate metabolism, the insulin signaling pathway, and the adipocytokine signaling pathway, with key common DEGs such as PCK2, ACACA, ACACB, and AMPK in these pathways. These pathways and key genes are involved in the regulation of fat deposition in the muscle and fat tissues of broilers.

Preliminary comparison of skin transcriptome from sheep with different wool fibre diameters

Yunxia Qi et al.

Summary: The study used RNA-Seq technology to explore the skin transcriptome of sheep with fine and coarse wool, revealing the relationship between wool fibre diameter and processes such as lipid metabolism and immune function. Differentially expressed genes, especially those involved in lipid metabolism and immune function, may play key roles in wool follicle metabolism and the expression of wool FD.
