Hematological and biochemical investigations on the effect of curcumin and Thymoquinone in male mice exposed to Thioacetamide

Atef M. Al-Attar

Summary: The study investigated the potential protective effects of curcumin and thymoquinone against thioacetamide-induced hematological and biochemical alterations in male rats. The results showed that treatment with curcumin, thymoquinone, and their combination could inhibit these alterations, with the most protective effect observed in mice treated with both curcumin and thymoquinone. The findings suggest that the protective effects of curcumin and thymoquinone are attributed to their antioxidant properties.

Comparative immuno-modulatory effects of basil and sesame seed oils against diazinon-induced toxicity in rats; a focus on TNF-α immunolocalization

Sameh Mohamed Farouk et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that basil and sesame seed oils have protective effects against the toxic effects of Diazinon in rats. These oils significantly decreased abnormal blood parameters, reduced oxidative stress, and modulated inflammatory and immune responses compared to rats exposed only to Diazinon. Additionally, basil oil showed a more potent protective effect at both immunohistochemical and molecular levels.

Exploring the possible neuroprotective and antioxidant potency of lycopene against acrylamide-induced neurotoxicity in rats' brain

Sameh M. Farouk et al.

Summary: This study investigated the neurotoxic effects induced by acrylamide (AC) exposure and the potential protective role of lycopene (Ly) in reversing brain dysfunction. The results showed that AC exposure led to a range of neurotoxic effects, while Ly administration effectively mitigated these effects by modulating oxidative and antioxidant activities in rat brain tissue.

Antioxidative properties of Ocimum gratissimum alters Lead acetate induced oxidative damage in lymphoid tissues and hematological parameters of adult Wistar rats

John Chukwuma Oyem et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that Ocimum gratissimum extract has a beneficial effect in reducing lead acetate induced oxidative damage and improving abnormal blood parameters. Lead exposure can lead to spleen, thymus, and blood toxicity, which can be effectively reversed by oral administration of OG.
