The Application of DOMS Mechanism and Prevention in Physical Education and Training

Cong Zeng et al.

Summary: By analyzing muscle soreness and injury during precompetition training in university sports meet, and focusing on the DOMS mechanism, a reasonable approach to deal with muscle pain and prevent injury was identified. The study involved 125 randomly selected college students participating in stadium games training. Findings were obtained through interviews, mathematical statistics, and literature review. The study comprehensively analyzed exercise load, pain and injury type, exercise ability, pain degree, and recovery time to explore the mechanism of pain and injury formation. The results showed that muscle soreness and injury frequently occurred during precompetition training, especially in freshmen. Heavy load resulted in muscle soreness, which caused DOMS and eventually progressed into muscle injury. The study emphasized the importance of controlling load intensity, ensuring water and energy intake, and timely recovery after DOMS symptoms to prevent sports injury. Understanding the mechanism of DOMS and exploring effective prevention methods have significant implications for physical education and sports training.

Intense Acute Swimming Induces Delayed-Onset Muscle Soreness Dependent on Spinal Cord Neuroinflammation

Sergio M. Borghi et al.

Summary: Delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is caused by unaccustomed exercise with eccentric contractions, high intensity, or long duration. This study investigates the role of spinal cord neuroinflammation in DOMS and suggests that glial cells, NF kappa B, cytokines/chemokines, and oxidative stress play important roles in DOMS-induced central sensitization.

Early radiation-induced oral pain signaling responses are reduced with pentoxifylline treatment

Summary: This study investigated the impact of pentoxifylline (PTX) on radiation-induced acute oral mucositis and related pain, finding that PTX could inhibit the TNF-alpha signaling pathway and reduce neuronal responsiveness to chemical stimuli, potentially aiding in alleviating pain in head and neck cancer patients.

Redox interactions of immune cells and muscle in the regulation of exercise-induced pain and analgesia: implications on the modulation of muscle nociceptor sensory neurons

Sylvia K. D. Bussulo et al.

Summary: Mechanistic interactions among redox status of leukocytes, muscle, and exercise in pain regulation are still poorly understood. Exercise can modulate nociceptive activity through oxidative metabolism, and regular exercise can improve antioxidant capacity and reduce pain. Understanding the role of redox status in exercise can provide insights for therapeutic strategies for chronic pain disorders.

Fractalkine/CX3CR1 Pathway in Neuropathic Pain: An Update

Rita Silva et al.

Summary: Injuries to the nervous system can lead to neuropathic pain that is difficult to treat, with the immune cell-mediated mechanisms, particularly microglia, playing a significant role in the development and maintenance of this pain. The Fractalkine/CX3CR1 signaling pathway is crucial in the communication between neurons and microglia in neuropathic pain states, offering innovative targets for treatment strategies.
