Electrochemical Reduction of Gaseous Nitrogen Oxides on Transition Metals at Ambient Conditions

Byung Hee Ko et al.

Summary: This research demonstrates a method of reducing gaseous NOx emissions at ambient temperatures through an electrochemical pathway. The study found that copper has a high selectivity towards NH3 formation, and a high NO coverage facilitates the N-N coupling reaction. This work provides a promising avenue for reducing gaseous NOx emissions at ambient conditions using renewable electricity.

Improved N2O capture performance of chromium terephthalate MIL-101 via substituent engineering

Lei Ma et al.

Summary: This research investigates the improvement of N2O/CO2 separation performance in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) through substituent engineering. The results show that the introduction of an electron-donating group (-NH2) effectively enhances the N2O/CO2 separation potential, while electron-withdrawing groups (-NO2 or -Br) have the opposite effect. This strategy could be applied to other porous materials for chemical separation processes.
