Majid Saidi et al.

Summary: The kinetic study of upgrading anisole to jet-grade fuels via catalytic hydrotreatment process reveals that benzene is formed as the primary product through demethoxylation of anisole, with phenol showing the highest selectivity and activation energy in the hydrogenolysis reaction. The comprehensive quantitative reaction network for anisole catalytic hydrotreatment over Cu/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst is consistent with previous studies.

Highly efficient hydrodeoxygenation of lignin-derivatives over Ni-based catalyst

Xiaokang Yue et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that flower-like Ni catalysts supported on mixed metal oxides exhibit excellent activity, mainly due to the large specific surface area of the support and strong interaction between the metal and support. By tuning the properties and composition of the catalyst, efficient hydrodeoxygenation catalysts can be constructed.

Co-presence of hydrophilic and hydrophobic sites in Ni/biochar catalyst for enhancing the hydrogenation activity

Yiran Wang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that treating biochar derived from rice husks with HNO3 oxidation and thermal treatment can increase the hydrophobicity of the Ni catalyst, while some hydrophilic sites still exist due to the uneven surface of biochar. The coexistence of hydrophobic and hydrophilic sites in the Ni/biochar catalyst enhances the adsorption and activation of specific functionalities, leading to higher catalytic activity for hydrogenation of unsaturated bonds compared to catalysts with mainly hydrophilic sites.
