Dependence of Photocatalytic Activity on the Morphology of Strontium Titanates

Tamas Gyulavari et al.

Summary: Strontium titanates with different morphologies were prepared by varying the ratio of solvents used during the synthesis. The effects of morphology and solvent ratio on the structure and photocatalytic activity of the samples were investigated. The results showed that the ratio of solvents notably influenced the morphology and photocatalytic activity of the samples.

Role of SrCO3 on Photocatalytic Performance of SrTiO3-SrCO3 Composites

Biborka Boga et al.

Summary: In this study, SrTiO3-SrCO3 composites with different contents of SrCO3 were synthesized and their morphological, structural, and optical properties were investigated. The results showed improved photocatalytic efficiency in the degradation of DCFNa for all the studied composites. The highest mineralization efficiency was obtained for the sample with 21 wt% SrCO3 content. The presence of SrCO3 led to an increased concentration of active species and inhibited the production of CH4 and C2H6 during CO2 photoreduction.

Photocatalytic activity of perovskite SrTiO3 catalysts doped with variable rare earth ions

Yue-Xin Song et al.

Summary: In this study, 15 types of rare earth ions doped perovskite SrTiO3 powders were synthesized using the sol-gel method. The results showed that while the crystal structure remained constant, the morphology and optical properties varied with the incorporation of different Re ions. An in-depth analysis of the relationship between morphology, optical properties, and photocatalytic activity of the synthesized SrTiO3 catalysts doped with different Re ions provided insight into the factors influencing catalytic performance.

Manipulating the Structure and Characterization of Sr1-xLaxTiO3 Nanocubes toward the Photodegradation of 2-Naphthol under Artificial Solar Light

Le Minh-Vien et al.

Summary: Effective La-doped SrTiO3 nanocubes were successfully synthesized, with different La dopant concentrations affecting the physicochemical properties of the structure. Substitution of Sr2+ by La3+ expanded the absorption region, while higher La-doping concentration led to increased surface area. Sr0.95La0.05TiO3 showed the highest photocatalytic performance, reaching 92% degradation efficiency for 2-naphthol under artificial solar light. Manipulating the structure of Sr1-xLaxTiO3 nanocubes could enhance degradation efficiency, with significant breakthroughs expected in treating organic contaminants from industrial wastewater.

Solvothermal Crystallization of Ag/AgxO-AgCl Composites: Effect of Different Chloride Sources/Shape-Tailoring Agents

Zsejke-Reka Toth et al.

Summary: In this study, AgCl microcrystals were obtained by solvothermal crystallization to investigate the effect of different shape-tailoring agents on the photocatalytic properties, with the most efficient catalyst synthesized using HCl and polyvinylpyrrolidone. The ability of polyvinylpyrrolidone to enhance photocatalytic activity was also explored, showing that 0.6 g of polyvinylpyrrolidone resulted in the most efficient catalyst. Additionally, AgxO was found to play a critical role as a charge separator in the photocatalytic process.

Improved Catalytic Activity and Stability of Ba Substituted SrTiO3 Perovskite for Oxidative Coupling of Methane

Yue Wang et al.

Summary: The partial substitution of Sr with Ba in SrTiO3 perovskite was shown to enhance the catalytic performance, with improved activity and stability in OCM reaction. This improvement was mainly attributed to the reduced crystal size, increased surface chemisorbed oxygen species, and better thermal resistance of nano-sized Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 perovskite.
