Mesophase pitch production aided by the thermal decomposition of polyvinylidene fluoride

Chaehun Lim et al.

Summary: Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has attracted much attention as an effective additive for mesophase production in recent years. This study discusses the changes in properties of pitches obtained with different amounts of added PVDF and the influence of PVDF decomposition on mesophase formation. The results show that PVDF is an effective additive for mesophase pitch production.
