ScannerS: parameter scans in extended scalar sectors

Margarete Muehlleitner et al.

Summary: We present ScannerS-2, a public code for parameter scans and checks in theories beyond the Standard Model (BSM) with extended scalar sectors. ScannerS incorporates constraints from theoretical and experimental sources to determine whether a parameter point is allowed or excluded at approximately 95% confidence level. The implemented BSM models in ScannerS include popular ones such as singlet extensions, different versions of the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model, and different phases of the Next-to Two-Higgs-Doublet Model. The ScannerS framework allows easy extensions with additional constraints and BSM models.

High-precision measurement of the W boson mass with the CDF II detector

T. Aaltonen et al.

Summary: This study measured the mass of the W boson and compared it with the expectation of the standard model of particle physics. The results show a significant discrepancy between the measured value and the expectation.

The Electro-Weak Phase Transition at Colliders: Discovery Post-Mortem

Andreas Papaefstathiou et al.

Summary: This study explores the capabilities of a future proton collider to investigate the nature of the electro-weak phase transition after the discovery of a new scalar particle. By constructing phenomenological methods, the study finds that a 100 TeV proton collider has the potential to explore the parameter space of the real singlet model and provide meaningful constraints on the electro-weak phase transition. However, additional information may be needed to fully understand the nature of the cosmological electro-weak transition.

A Short Overview on Low Mass Scalars at Future Lepton Colliders

Tania Robens

Summary: In this manuscript, a short summary is given on scenarios with new physics scalars that could be investigated at future e(+)e(-) colliders. The focus is on cases where at least one of the additional scalars has a mass below 125 GeV, and both models and studies related to such scenarios are discussed.

Search for new particles in an extended Higgs sector with four b quarks in the final state at √s=13 TeV

A. Tumasyan et al.

Summary: This study presents a search for a massive resonance X decaying to a pair of spin-0 bosons phi that themselves decay to pairs of bottom quarks. The analysis is based on collision data collected at CERN LHC, using jet substructure and flavor identification techniques. The obtained limits are the first of their kind on this process.

Benchmark planes for Higgs-to-Higgs decays in the NMSSM

Ulrich Ellwanger et al.

Summary: This study presents benchmark planes (or lines) with cross sections via gluon fusion within the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, for processes such as Higgs pair and triple Higgs production. New searches and possible cross sections for specific final states are proposed, aiming to explore unexplored regions of the parameter space. The dominant contributions to trilinear Higgs couplings and Higgs-Z couplings are discussed, aiding in the identification of the primary processes contributing to a given final state.

Search for Higgs boson decays into a pair of pseudoscalar particles in the bbμμ final state with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV

G. Aad et al.

Summary: This paper presents a search for decays of the Higgs boson into a pair of new pseudoscalar particles. The search uses proton-proton collision data from the ATLAS experiment at the LHC and identifies a narrow dimuon resonance. Upper limits on the branching ratio of the Higgs boson to the bbμμ final state are estimated.

Naturalness implications within the two-real-scalar-singlet beyond the SM

Jamal Ou Aali et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate quadratic divergences in the Standard Model extended by two real scalar singlets (TRSM) using dimensional regularization. The results show that divergence cancellation could occur in the TRSM framework, providing stringent constraints on parameters and new physics scale for the SM-like Higgs boson, while remaining consistent with current experimental measurements at 13 TeV.

HiggsSignals-2: probing new physics with precision Higgs measurements in the LHC 13 TeV era

Philip Bechtle et al.

Summary: HiggsSignals is a program that confronts model predictions with available Higgs signal rate and mass measurements, resulting in likelihood estimates. The new version, HiggsSignals-2, includes improvements in handling template cross section measurements and statistical interpretations. The performance of HiggsSignals is illustrated with example analyses, highlighting the importance of public information on experimental details.

Triple Higgs boson production at the Large Hadron Collider with Two Real Singlet scalars

Andreas Papaefstathiou et al.

Summary: The study investigates the production of three Higgs bosons in the Two Real Singlet extension of the Standard Model, focusing on resonant production and asymmetric decay chains of the three neutral CP-even scalars. The research determines the discovery prospects for this channel in future runs of the Large Hadron Collider, taking into account current theoretical and experimental constraints.
