Evaluation of natural radioactivity levels and potential radiological hazards of common building materials utilized in Mediterranean region, Turkey

Seref Turhan et al.

Summary: The radiometric measurement of common building materials in the Osmaniye province of Turkey's Mediterranean region showed varying levels of activity concentrations for Ra-226, Th-232, and K-40. Radiological parameters were used to evaluate potential health hazards, but all values fell within recommended safety limits, indicating that the use of these materials in construction is safe for residents.

Natural radioactivity and radiological risks of common building materials used in Semnan Province dwellings, Iran

Morteza Imani et al.

Summary: The radiological survey conducted in Semnan Province, Iran, measured activity concentrations of Ra-226, Th-232, and K-40 in common building materials. Statistical analysis including Pearson correlation, cluster, and principal component analyses indicated that the main radiological health hazard parameters are related to the concentrations of Ra-226 and Th-232.
