Summary: In this study, PEG-modified hollow mesoporous manganese dioxide nanoparticles were used to load the anti-tumor drug bleomycin. The nanocarrier had excellent responsive therapeutic activation ability and could effectively attenuate the side effects of the drug. Mn2+ exhibited strong paramagnetism and was used for T-1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in vivo.

Triple cascade nanocatalyst with laser-activatable O2 supply and photothermal enhancement for effective catalytic therapy against hypoxic tumor

Summary: In this study, a carbon nitride/nanozyme/glucose oxidase triple cascade nanocatalyst was designed to improve the efficiency of catalytic therapy by laser-activated oxygen self-supply through water splitting to alleviate tumor hypoxia. The synergistic effect of laser-activated oxygen supply and photothermal enhancement significantly improved the performance of catalytic therapy without drug resistance and toxicity to normal tissues.

MnO2 Nanowires Decorated with Au Nanoparticles for Plasmon- Enhanced Electrocatalytic Detection of H2O2

Summary: This study demonstrates that the catalytic activity of MnO2 can be greatly improved by the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect when decorated with gold nanoparticles (Au NPs). Under visible light irradiation, the gold decorated nanowires show higher sensitivity and increased current for H2O2 oxidation. The improved performance is attributed to more efficient charge separation by plasmonic generated hot electrons and holes.
