Surveying the electrocatalytic CO2-to-CO activity of heterogenized metallomacrocycles via accurate clipping at the molecular level

Meng-Ke Hu et al.

Summary: This study successfully developed a series of nickel phthalocyanine catalysts immobilized on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNT) and investigated their electrocatalytic performance for CO2RR in a neutral electrolyte. Interestingly, a volcano-type trend was observed between the activity for CO2-to-CO conversion and the alkyl chain lengths of the catalysts on CNT. Experimental results further revealed that their electrocatalytic activities were highly influenced by the molecular dispersion and the heterointerfacial charge transfer capability adjusted by the alkyl chains.
