Plasmonic All-Frame-Faceted Octahedral Nanoframes with Eight Engraved Y-Shaped Hot Zones

Jeongwon Kim et al.

Summary: We reported the synthesis of all-frame-faceted octahedral nanoframes with multiple Y-shaped hot zones, which can achieve maximum electromagnetic near-field focusing. The complex nanoframes were obtained through a series of bottom-up processes, utilizing Au octahedral nanoparticles as templates. By controlling the chemical reactivity of different surface facets and selectively decorating the edges with Pt, 3D nanoframes with high integrity were successfully achieved.
