Diaporthe spp. Is Confirmed as the Main Fungus Associated with Defective Turkish Hazelnuts

Roberta Arciuolo et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to identify the fungi associated with Turkish hazelnuts and confirm the role of Diaporthe in causing kernel defects. The results showed that Diaporthe had a higher incidence and was positively correlated with hazelnut defects. However, Botryosphaeria was only associated with hidden defects and further research is needed to confirm this finding.
