Photogrammetric Co-Processing of Thermal Infrared Images and RGB Images

Adam Dlesk et al.

Summary: In some applications, the spatial orientation of thermal infrared information is necessary. This article presents two methods for photogrammetric co-processing of thermal infrared (TIR) and RGB images, which allow for enhanced 2D and 3D results that can locate thermal occurrences and determine their scale. The methods, termed sharpening and reprojection, utilize fixed systems of TIR and RGB cameras to capture corresponding images and eliminate the negative factors associated with TIR images.

HBIM for supporting the diagnosis of historical buildings: case study of the Master Gate of San Francisco in Portugal

Jesus Garcia-Gago et al.

Summary: This paper aims to develop a Historical Building Information Modelling (HBIM) methodology for supporting the diagnosis phase in historical constructions. The paper evaluates the capacity of HBIM to integrate data generated during pre-diagnosis and previous tests, including data from point cloud clustering methods. Different families with low Level of Detail (LoD) and high Level of Information (LoI) are proposed, along with strategies for integrating data from point cloud clustering methods. The proposed methodology is applied to a case study in the Fortress of Almeida in Portugal, demonstrating its viability for the diagnosis of historical constructions. Future work will focus on improving the integration of 3D point cloud features using convex-hull methods and integrating clustering approaches based on artificial intelligence.

Multitemporal Thermal Imagery Acquisition and Data Processing on Historical Masonry: Experimental Application on a Case Study

Francesca Trevisiol et al.

Summary: The recent improvement in infrared image quality has led to increased use of thermography as a non-destructive diagnostic technique. This study focused on the Santa Croce Complex in Ravenna, Italy, and developed an innovative method using active thermography to detect masonry degradation in a high moisture content environment. The method was first validated through laboratory tests and then applied to a real case study.

Parametric HBIM Procedure for the Structural Evaluation of Heritage Masonry Buildings

Pietro Croce et al.

Summary: Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been widely adopted in the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors. This paper proposes a parametric procedure for the assessment of existing masonry buildings in the BIM environment. The procedure combines software for structural analysis with a BIM approach, improving data management and simplifying the assessment process.
