Modelling of the effective thermal conductivity of composites reinforced with fibers and particles by two-step homogenization method

Chuan-Yong Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper calculates the effective thermal conductivity (ETC) of different fillers reinforced composites and proposes a two-step model for predicting the ETC of fiber-particle reinforced composites. The results show accurate predictions for randomly arranged fibers and aligned fibers. Additionally, the combinability of different models is validated for accurately predicting the ETC of fiber-particle reinforced composites.

Evaluation of the acoustic performance of polyurethane foams embedded with rock wool fibers at low-frequency range; design and construction

Behzad Mohammadi et al.

Summary: This study focused on improving acoustic and mechanical characteristics by combining polyurethane foam with rock wool fibers of different values. The results showed that sound absorption properties were greatly enhanced with the use of RWF at 1, 2, and 3 wt%. In addition, the performance of open porosity composite foams was influenced by air-flow resistance and volumetric density.
