Preparation and CO2 adsorption properties of TEPA-functionalized multi-level porous particles based on solid waste

Hao Su et al.

Summary: In this study, TEPA-functionalized solid waste-based porous particles were prepared and their functionalization characteristics and CO2 adsorption performances were investigated. The results showed that the CO2 adsorption capacity reached the maximum at a 12 wt% TEPA loading and increased with temperature and pressure. The infrared spectra confirmed the chemical adsorption of CO2 in the porous particles. Adsorption kinetics and thermodynamics revealed the presence of both physical and chemical adsorptions, with the chemical one being dominant.

Mechanical properties and failure mode of sandstone specimen with a prefabricated borehole under true triaxial stress condition

Jun Lu et al.

Summary: This study conducted experiments and analyzed CT scans to investigate the influence of different orientations and sizes of cavities on the strength and failure modes of rock samples. The results showed that the direction of the borehole and principal stress axis significantly affected the stability of the sandstone samples, while the intermediate principal stress played a significant role in the distribution of the damage zone.

Peak particle velocity of vibration events in underground coal mine and their caused stress increment

Wenlong Zhang et al.

Summary: Peak particle velocity (PPV) is studied in this paper as the most basic parameter to connect with stress increment in vibration events, with focus on events in underground coal mines. Different types of events, such as whole mine (WM) event, working face (WF) event, and heading face (HF) event, are analyzed, with emphasis on the relationship between PPV, stress increment, and event magnitude for mechanism study and early warning of rock burst.

Peridynamic modelling of blasting induced rock fractures

Fan Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a peridynamics-based computational approach for modelling blasting induced rock fractures. It proposes a new non-ordinary state-based peridynamics approach with a Johnson-Holmquist (JH2) constitutive model to consider various factors affecting rock behavior under blasting loads. The simulations demonstrate the ability of the approach to capture material failure and cracking patterns, highlighting the importance of intact strength parameters and material tensile strength in producing accurate fracture simulations.
