Innovative Technical Solution Using the Renal Artery Stump after Nephrectomy as an Inflow Artery for Lower Limb Revascularization-A Case Report

Eliza Russu et al.

Summary: This article presents a case of a patient with a diagnosed kidney tumor using computed tomography angiography. The patient also had an abdominal aortic aneurysm and right iliac artery occlusion. An interdisciplinary team of doctors made a unanimous decision and performed a one-step surgery to remove the right kidney and achieve limb revascularization. Pathology results confirmed clear cell renal cell carcinoma, with oncological safety margins achieved in the surgery. Short-term follow-up showed symptom relief and normal graft function.

An Objective and Repeatable Sac Isolation Technique for Comparing Biomechanical Metrics in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Timothy K. Chung et al.

Summary: This study investigated the potential issues in biomechanics-based metrics for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) and proposed a novel sac-isolation algorithm. By comparing the metrics with and without sac isolation, the algorithm was found to accurately assess stable and unstable regions of AAA.

The Ratio of the Size of the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm to That of the Unchanged Aorta as a Risk Factor for Its Rupture

Maciej Jusko et al.

Summary: Individual anatomical differences may play a crucial role in assessing the risk of rupture for abdominal aortic aneurysms, as shown by the study's findings on diameter ratios and their predictive value for small aneurysms with a high risk of rupture. Further validation of these ratios in larger patient groups is needed.

Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Peak Wall Stress and Peak Wall Rupture Index in Ruptured and Asymptomatic Intact Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Tejas P. Singh et al.

Summary: This systematic review compared PWS and PWRI in ruptured and asymptomatic intact AAAs of similar diameter, showing that PWRI was greater in ruptured AAAs while PWS did not show significant differences. The study suggests that PWRI may be a better predictor of AAA rupture risk compared to PWS.

Late Rupture of a Thrombosed Aortic Abdominal Aneurysm - a Case Report

Emil-Marian Arbanasi et al.

Summary: A 72-year-old patient with severe back pain caused by a thrombosed and ruptured aortic abdominal aneurysm was diagnosed after a lumbar MRI examination and underwent open repair surgery. The intraoperative finding was a ruptured aneurysm with thrombosis extending along the common iliac and external iliac branches.
