Accuracy in detecting major depressive episodes in older adults using the Swedish versions of the GDS-15 and PHQ-9

Johnny Pellas et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of the Swedish versions of the GDS-15 and PHQ-9 for screening older adults with major depressive episodes. The results showed comparable accuracy between the two scales, but the proposed cut-off value of 10 on the PHQ-9 may be too high for older individuals in Sweden, necessitating further investigation.
