Summary: This study found a more severe form of COVID-19 and a high number of MIS-C cases in Latin American children compared to studies from China, Europe, and North America, indicating a more severe disease in Latin/Hispanic children or those of lower socioeconomic status. Household Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Transmission and Children: A Network Prospective Study

Summary: The study conducted in Catalonia, Spain, found that the majority of pediatric COVID-19 cases were transmitted from adults, suggesting that children are less likely to cause household COVID-19 clusters. The secondary attack rate was significantly lower during the school period when children were the index case, compared to the summer period and adults, indicating a lower transmission risk from children.
