Novel insight into pancreatic adenocarcinoma pathogenesis using liquid association analysis

Zahra Shokati Eshkiki et al.

Summary: The study investigated the critical genes and pathways involved in the pathogenesis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) using a three-way interaction approach. The results suggest that response to estradiol and regulation of T-cell proliferation may be associated with PDAC pathogenesis.

Overexpression of laminin-5 gamma-2 promotes tumorigenesis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma through EGFR/ERK1/2/AKT/mTOR cascade

Anuradha Kirtonia et al.

Summary: LAMC2 plays a crucial role in the tumorigenesis of PDAC by repressing epithelial-mesenchymal transition and modulating the EGFR/ERK1/2/AKT/mTOR axis, thus inhibiting PDAC tumor growth and metastasis.

Novel LAMC2 fusion protein has tumor-promoting properties in ovarian carcinoma

Hoshino Daisuke et al.

Summary: Laminins, composed of alpha, beta, and gamma chains, play a critical role in cancer progression. A novel short form of Lm-gamma 2 (Lm-gamma 2F) can activate the EGFR/AKT pathways more effectively, promoting proliferation and motility of ovarian cancer cells. The translocation between LAMC2 and NR6A1 genes is crucial for the malignant growth and progression of ovarian cancer cells.

Deregulation of extracellular matrix modeling with molecular prognostic markers revealed by transcriptome sequencing and validations in Oral Tongue squamous cell carcinoma

Soundara Viveka Thangaraj et al.

Summary: Oral Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OTSCC) is a distinct sub-group of head and neck cancers characterized by its aggressive nature and high incidence of recurrence and metastasis. Transcriptome analysis of OTSCC patients identified key genes and deregulated pathways, leading to the validation of a panel of valuable prognostic markers that can be clinically useful in identifying poor prognosis and occult node metastasis in OTSCC patients. Up-regulation of certain genes was associated with treatment failure in early stages, while other genes were significantly correlated with occult node positivity, indicating their potential as indicators of poor prognosis.

LAMC2 promotes cancer progression and gemcitabine resistance through modulation of EMT and ATP-binding cassette transporters in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

Yasuyuki Okada et al.

Summary: The overexpression of LAMC2 in PDAC is associated with poor survival outcomes and can potentially serve as a prognostic marker. Inhibition of LAMC2 in PDAC cells enhances gemcitabine sensitivity and promotes apoptosis. LAMC2 also affects cell migration and invasion abilities, and is correlated with the expression of EMT and ABC transporters.

Identification of laminin γ2 as a prognostic and predictive biomarker for determining response to gemcitabine-based therapy in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

Yasuyuki Okada et al.

Summary: In PDAC patients, high expression of LAMC2 is associated with poor prognosis and predicts a poor response to gemcitabine-based therapy. This biomarker could significantly impact the precision and individualized treatment of PDAC patients.

ITGA2, LAMB3, and LAMC2 may be the potential therapeutic targets in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: an integrated bioinformatics analysis

Shajedul Islam et al.

Summary: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a common form of pancreatic cancer with poor prognosis. Gene expression analysis identified 20 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in PDAC tissues compared to non-cancerous tissues, enriched in extracellular matrix, cell adhesion, and protein-protein interaction pathways. Hub genes such as ITGA2, LAMB3, and LAMC2 play roles in PDAC progression and may serve as therapeutic targets.

LAMB1 Is Related to the T Stage and Indicates Poor Prognosis in Gastric Cancer

Tao Ran et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association of LAMB1 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis in gastric cancer. The high expression of LAMB1 was found to be related to poor prognosis in patients with gastric cancer, potentially due to microenvironmental changes in tumors. GO/KEGG analysis revealed enrichment of LAMB1-related genes in signaling pathways and interactions associated with tumor progression.
