Changes in Serum Biomarkers of Oxidative Stress in Cattle Vaccinated with Tick Recombinant Antigens: A Pilot Study

Marinela Contreras et al.

Summary: Tick vaccination is an environmentally friendly alternative for tick control, but the efficacy of tick vaccines may be influenced by oxidative stress. This study compared serum biomarkers of antioxidant response and oxidative damage in cattle vaccinated with different antigens, revealing that vaccines inducing lower oxidative stress may lead to higher antibody concentrations. Further research is needed to fully understand the relationship between oxidative stress and immune function in vaccinated animals.
