Thermodynamic and transport properties of amoxicillin

Shyam Prakash Khanal et al.

Summary: MD simulations were conducted to study the solvation free energy and transport phenomena of amoxicillin, an antibacterial drug molecule, in water and ethanol. It was found that the solvation free energy of amoxicillin was higher in water than in ethanol. The diffusion coefficient of amoxicillin was also observed to be higher in water. The analysis of solvent accessible surface area and hydrogen bonds provided insights into the effect of solvent environment on the solvation process of amoxicillin.
