A Conductive Bioengineered Cardiac Patch for Myocardial Infarction Treatment by Improving Tissue Electrical Integrity

Qi Yin et al.

Summary: A novel scaffold composed of silk fibroin and polypyrrole (SP50) with electrical conductivity similar to native myocardium is developed. An electroactive engineered cardiac patch (SP50 ECP) is constructed by applying electrical stimulation to cardiomyocytes (CMs) on the scaffold. SP50 ECP shows therapeutic effects in repairing infarcted myocardium and improving cardiac functions.

Raspberry Hierarchical Topographic Features Regulate Human Mesenchymal Stem Cell Adhesion and Differentiation via Enhanced Mechanosensing

Yong Hou et al.

Summary: The development of raspberry-like hierarchical surfaces with well-defined nanofeatures and tunable nano/microfeatures via catecholic polymer coating technique enhances the mechanosensing of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) to interfacial physical cues. Cellular responses to these hierarchical interfaces were systematically studied, showing that nanofeatures significantly influence cell mechanotransduction.
