Lipid Transfer Protein Sensitization: Risk of Anaphylaxis and Molecular Sensitization Profile in Pru p 3-Sensitized Patients

Maria Ruano-Zaragoza et al.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the recognition of different LTPs and allergen families in Pru p 3-sensitized individuals and analyze the relationship with clinical entities. Most Pru p 3-sensitized individuals showed sensitization to allergens from the same family and a higher incidence of anaphylaxis, but no association was found between respiratory and food allergies involving LTPs.

Subjects develop tolerance to Pru p 3 but respiratory allergy to Pru p 9: A large study group from a peach exposed population

Maria Luisa Somoza et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of peach tree allergens on subjects following oral or respiratory exposure. Results showed a low sensitivity to peach fruit, mainly related to Pru p 3, and a higher skin sensitivity to peach tree pollen, with positive responses to Pru p 9 being associated with respiratory allergy.
