Bioactive hybrid metal-organic framework (MOF)-based nanosensors for optical detection of recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike antigen

Navid Rabiee et al.

Summary: Fast, efficient, and accurate detection of SARS-CoV-2 spike antigen is crucial in controlling COVID-19. This study developed a low-cost, safe, and bioactive hybrid nanostructure, MOF-5/CoNi2S4, which demonstrated effective detection of recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike antigen. The synthesized nanomaterials showed good physical interactions with the spike antigen and high biocompatibility. They also exhibited a detection limit of 5 nM, making them promising platforms for biosensors.
