Ultrahigh strain in texture d BCZT-base d lead-free ceramics with CuO sintering agent

Yingchun Liu et al.

Summary: Textured lead-free ceramics based on BaTiO3 (BT) have attracted attention for their high piezoelectric properties, but face challenges like high sintering temperatures and low Curie temperatures. In this study, highly oriented (Ba0.95Ca0.05)(Zr0.04Ti0.96)O3 ceramics with CuO sintering agent were successfully synthesized using templated grain growth, resulting in lower sintering temperatures and improved properties. The introduction of CuO and liquid-phase sintering led to reduced stresses, smaller grains, and enhanced piezoelectric coefficients in the BCZT-1.0 ceramics.
