Study of impact of bed joint reinforcement on load-carrying capacity and crack resistance of masonry walls made of calcium silicate units

Drobiec Lukasz

Summary: This study examines the impact of reinforcement on the load-carrying capacity and crack resistance of calcium silicate unit walls. The research found that reinforcement has a lower impact on load-carrying capacity, but a greater impact on crack resistance of the masonry. The load-carrying capacity of walls increased by approximately 10% with reinforcement.
