Antibacterial Electroconductive Composite Coating of Cotton Fabric

Tomasz Makowski et al.

Summary: Graphene oxide was deposited and thermally reduced on cotton fabric, leading to electrical conductivity. The resulting fabric was then used for electrochemical deposition of silver particles. Only the silver/reduced graphene oxide composite coating exhibited antibacterial properties and superhydrophobicity.

Facile fabrication of antibacterial and fire-safety multifunctional cotton fabric with a triazine-phosphonate N-halamine

Shijie Wang et al.

Summary: This research focuses on creating a multi-purpose cotton fabric that has both biocidal efficacy and flame retardant properties. By utilizing the reactivity of cyanuric chloride, a reactive triazine-phosphonate N-halamine precursor (TDAD) was designed and deposited onto the cotton fabric. The modified fabric showed a strong bactericidal effect against both positive and negative bacteria after chlorination, and also exhibited satisfactory flame retardancy.

Facile fabrication of antibacterial and fire-safety multifunctional cotton fabric with a triazine-phosphonate N-halamine

Shijie Wang et al.

Summary: The research aims to develop a multi-purpose cotton fabric with biocidal efficacy and flame retardancy. The modified cotton fabric showed strong bactericidal effect against both positive and negative bacteria within 1 minute, and successfully passed the flame test with self-extinguishing effect. Additionally, the multi-purpose coating had slight influence on the performance of cotton fabric.

Highly efficient and durable antibacterial cotton fabrics finished with zwitterionic polysulfobetaine by one-step eco-friendly strategy

Simeng Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel polysulfobetaine formulation (PSPB-AM-AGE) was synthesized and grafted onto cotton fabrics. The treated cotton exhibited excellent antibacterial properties, good laundry durability, and improved comfort performance. Mechanical tests showed that the essential cotton properties were largely preserved after treatment.
